Two Lovers

Two Lovers
Two lovers were sitting around one day
They were wondering what to do
It was one of them crappy weather days
The sky was grey instead of blue
Well the dog was tired and they were getting restles in the middle of the afternoon
He said maybe I’ll write a song, she said maybe I’ll listen to you
So he pick up his guitar and started to write
but as soon as he did that, his inspiration ran dry
So they put there heads together to try to think of somethin else
Not only just to entertain but to forget about themselves
Chorus:
They took drugs
They had sex
They took a long drive in the country and made promises that could never be kept
By lovers like them just simple folks who don’t need much
But lovers they’d always be as long as neither one became a crutch for the other
So the next day they went to work
Him to the station her to the store
Both thinkin about the good time they had the day before
They wished they could do that everyday
And that they didn’t have debts and bills o pay
Life should be free for the takin, with nothin but love to give
And they’d give it to each other and that’s how they decided to live
Chorus

Gotta Lose this part of me
Ain’t got no where to go
Don’t know anyone whos free
Until you look inside you’ll know
I gotta lose this part of me
Now all the flowers drop their pedals
And the trees there goes thier leaves
And the snake he sheds it’s skin
I gotta lose this part of me
Nothings ever what it seems
Be it reality or dreams
When you believe your fears and lies
The good lord hurts and the devil smiles
Now while the sun hides behind the clouds
I wanna go where I’m not aloud
Yeah the blue skies came back today
But I don’t want them to stay

All She Wanted
04:49
|
|||
All She Wanted
All she wanted to be was happy
All she wanted to be was free
All she wanted to be was loved
All she wanted to be was with me
And all she needed from me was me
And all she needed from herself was belief
And she wondered into his life
Well she stood by her man
And all he wanted to be was her man
But all he wanted to be was a guy
And all he wanted from her was her love
And all he wanted to do was die in her arms
And then things come closin in and reality strikes
And your livin in your sins at least that’s what it seems like
When your heart ain’t there it’s all hangin in the air
It’s so hard to make her smile it’s like runnin the longest mile
So they decided to be together
They decided to be apart
Whatever they decide it don’t matter
She still got a place in my heart

Nothin' But Home

Nothin' But Home
Raised in a town Northeast of Omaha
Not much there but soybeans, corn and people watchin’ baseball
In the distance I can hear those trains roll down the track
For thirty years that’s where my daddy broke his back
To raise a family, mom two sisters and my brothers three
Raised in a town Northeast of Omaha
Not much there, not nothing but home
Now my friends and I used to play some pretty good jokes
Sometimes we took it too far til’ some inanimate object broke
But when I compare our misdeeds with some I hear of today
I think by God we were stupid, but compared with that we were OK
Yeah we raised a little Hell, beer spilled in the car but oh well…
Raised twenty miles Northeast of Omaha
Not much there, not nothin’ at all
Now those endless highways they ain’t nothin’ but flat
And them people in them cars they all got a place they can park at
And they’ll be the first to tell ya they don’t need much
Just a few good friends, a good job and well…a new clutch
And though it may all seem boring now
Simplicity is their sacred cow
Raised in a town Northeast of Omaha
Not nothin’ there, not nothin’ at all.
Now there’s no place on this earth like a good home
Even if from here to kingdom come you do rome
And it’s all those times, experiences and memories
That get all wrapped up in the place you got to know your family
And those big cities will never be
What that little town now means to me
Cuz I was born twenty miles Northeast of Omaha
And there ain’t nothing there, not nothin’ but home

Paradise in the Dark
03:30
|
|||
When I got you on my mind there’s no such thing as time
And I think of you right here in my arms
In that big deep space full of heartbreak and grace
You are with me right here in my heart
When we had to part well I didn’t know where to start
To put my feelings into some kind of words
Choked up as I was I thought of something like love
And you flew away with wings like a bird
Chorus:
Well come with me now I’ll take you down
To the river in the nighttime with the stars
Don’t need to be anywhere but where we are so far
Seems to me like paradise in the dark
As we come around this bend and it looks like there’s no end
And there’s more of the same along the way
But it’s turning points like ours that can tell us just how far
We have gone where we’re going and where we are
Chorus:
Instrumental then Chorus x 2

Marjorie

Marjorie
Can I be expected
Expected at your house tonight
Can I be elected
To kiss you one more time
Your eyes……..slip into my pocket
Your hair was mine…….
To save in an envelope
You wash it , you brush it, you want it to shine
And I know that it’s mine
The dresses that you wear
I gave to you
Last year for your birthday
When you were just about twenty three
Oh Marjorie I always loved you
Your eyes slip into my pocket
Your hair was mine
I put it in an envelope, but I lost it
If you were here today
I’d like to play
Some songs I learned in your honor
And you’d sing along
And we’d go off in the sunset in my car together
OOOOOO, OOOOOOO, OOOOOOOO
But I lost it

Exposure To Living
03:39
|

Shee looks like a little dolly all tattered and torn at the seams
No one can reach her cause her gaze is fixed on her dreams
The beauty of her creases has been worn by the harshness of men
Exposure to living has colored her hair and her skin
Chorus:
But I like her, I like her, I like her O.K.
Her dog has been traveling with her, more faithful than any man
He too looks the worst for wear, but he still has some teeth to chew
His coat is kind of mangy, and his bark is kind of hoarse
Exposure to living let’s nature take it’s coarse
But I like him, I like him, I like him O.K.
Instrumental
The car that she drives is yellow, more reliable than any man
One seat for her one seat for her dog, and an engine that just won’t quit
The trunk holds all her belongings and it barely closes shut
Exposure to living, has left it full of rust
But I like it, I like it, I like it O.K.
And I like her, I like her, I like her dog O.K.

Brainwashed Stinkin Land
Well I’m just goin along my merry old way
Tryin not to listen to a word you have to say
It’s all lies and none of it needs to be heard
Why don’t you shut your mouth and burry all your words
I’m not listenin anyway
I’m not reading one word you say
Now I aint lived on this earth for a very long time
But I know the difference between this and that and right and wrong
There’s somethin to be said for the Master of the universe
Ya can’t put nothin by him without some kind of curse
Down deep inside we all know whats the truth
And it don’t come from the TV radio or the evenin news
But nobody can tell ya and make you believe what you don’t want
Ya gotta realize yourself just what you got
Noone but you can say
Like salivatin dogs we seem to eat it up
Al the propaganda newscasts and polls that are full of crap
They keep tellin us were idiots with all their bald face lies
By manipulating the video between our very own eyes
Some slimey polititian knows he’s got us in the palm of his hands
When it’s so obvious were livin in a brain washed stinkin land.
